Nzalamba was born in 1950 in Uganda of Rwandese parents. He arrived in US in 1978 and studied photography in adult school at Otis Parsons. He visited Rwanda in 1995, a year after Genocide was stopped and took his first photos there and has been traveling annually to document the country with his 4x5.
